Palamedes PR, the book PR specialists, has been appointed to represent music legend David Cousins, lead singer of The Strawbs.
The agency will be working with Mr Cousins on the promotion of his forthcoming autobiography, Exorcising Ghosts. The book — which will be published this autumn — will detail David’s incredible life in the music industry, from his beginnings as the lead singer and songwriter of English rock band The Strawbs, in the sixties, through to a highly successful second career in radio and beyond.
David was a producer for Danmarks Radio (the national broadcaster for Denmark) from 1967–1972, programme controller for Radio Tees in the early eighties, and then managing director of Devon Air in Devon.
Exorcising Ghosts promises an access-all-areas account of David’s time in the music biz packed with a wealth of anecdotes about such music icons as David Bowie, Sandy Denny and Rick Wakeman.
David, who is still touring with The Stawbs – best known for their hit ‘Part of the Union’, which reached number two in the UK charts in February 197 – said: “I am delighted to be teaming up with Palamedes PR on the promotion of my autobiography, Exorcising Ghosts — a ‘warts and all’ look at my life in the music industry.”
A spokesman for Palamedes PR, one of the UK’s leading book PR agencies, said: “We are thrilled to be representing David. We are big fans of Strawbs, and classic rock in general, and can’t wait to generate fantastic exposure for David’s sensational music autobiography, Exorcising Ghosts.”
