Neil Blower, the frontline soldier-turned-critically acclaimed novelist, will make a guest appearance at this year’s War and Peace Revival show, it can be announced today.
He will signing copies of Shell Shock: The Diary of Tommy Atkins during the annual military festival in Kent.
Blower, who served with the Royal Tank Regiment, was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) after witnessing his mentor and sergeant Steve Roberts being shot and killed as the first British casualty of the Iraq War in March 2003.
He is now one of the country’s leading campaigners and the brainchild behind the Government’s ‘Veteran’s Champion’ scheme.
A spokesman for Palamedes PR, which has represented Neil since 2011, said: “Neil is an inspiration figure whose literary work and political campaigning has, and will continue to, change the lives of our Armed Forces.
