Today’s coverage: British Comedy Guide covers AudioGO’s Stand Up and Get Heard comedy contest

Audiobook publisher AudioGO today launches a nationwide hunt to find the UK’s best budding stand-up.

The Stand Up and Get Heard contest, which is free to enter, is a unique opportunity for amateur comedians to get noticed – and to win some fantastic prizes in the process.

To enter, simply send an MP3 of a short stand-up routine or sketch to AudioGO, and it will be uploaded to its Facebook page. The best routine, as decided by AudioGO, will win two tickets to see a comedy show at the Pleasance Theatre during the Edinburgh Festival, as well as train fares and overnight accommodation in Edinburgh – a package valued at over £400.

In addition, the top three entrants will also be given the opportunity to visit the AudioGO studios in Bath, where they will have their sketch professionally recorded.

The content – devised by AudioGO and Palamedes in order to highlight AudioGO’s sponsorship of the Pleasance Theatre at this year’s Edinburgh Festival – is now running live on The British Comedy Guide.

For more information about how to enter this fantastic competition, visit the AudioGO Comedy Facebook Page.
