Objective: The promotion of novel The Foggiest Notion

Palamedes PR was appointed by author and professional crossword compiler Marc Breman in December 2017 to promote his novel, The Foggiest Notion. We were tasked with securing national newspaper exposure, a minimum of five radio interviews, a thought-leader article, a book review on Lovereading and creating a new website.

We devised the following editorial tactics to secure media exposure:

  • We prepared two national news stories, calling upon the Client’s insights to develop a story about how the crossword compiler industry was being threatened by extinction, and a second story promoting what we billed as ‘the world’s hardest crossword’
  • We developed a thought-leader article, utilizing the Client’s expertise and based on the angle of how to solve cryptic crosswords
  • We created a fully-responsive and modern website to promote the Client, his book and to house the world’s hardest crossword
  • We utilised our contact to secure a guaranteed Lovereading review

The Foggiest Notion campaign secured the following exposure:

  • National newspaper coverage in the print and online editions of the Daily Mail and Daily Mirror; print coverage in the Daily Express (including front page placement), the Scottish Daily Mail and The Times; and online coverage on the Daily Telegraph and ITV News
