Monster Slippers appointed us to maintain brand traction, especially in the national media. It was a pleasure and a delight to work with Monster Slipper given the quality and range of its products. We took our best foot forward and leaped in…

We orchestrated various publicity campaigns for Monster Slippers, including ongoing product placements and developing a story about the first slipper to keep your feet COLD. But it was the news-generation aspect of a specific campaign that would hit international audiences and become a national talking point – the case of the XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXL slipper…

The story went global almost immediately. With the exception of the FT, it hit every other national paper with radio stations and TV shows quickly following suit. It became a talking point in that some believed it was an elaborate PR stunt. Others called it a hoax. But the story showed no signs of slowing down and amassed phenomenal exposure for weeks. This included, bizarrely, a mention on the Liberal Democrat blog page. According to a coverage audit conducted at the time, it secured more than 200 pieces of reputable print and digital coverage – far, far more if blogs and broadcast coverage had have been taken into account. As with many of our stories, we genuinely lost count of the placements we secured. The following list has been largely compiled from memory; a quick search on the internet will bring-up dozens – perhaps even hundreds – more. But you get the idea. In addition to the publicity we secured, for this story and for our product placements, etc, we also supported Monster Slippers in the Transform Awards – an accolade it received on account of its digital and branding.
