Blog – charitable book signing update

Neil Blower's charitable challenge at this year's War and Peace show took off

Neil Blower’s charitable challenge at this year’s War and Peace show took off "slowly" but looks set to improve as crowds fill Folkestone Racecourse over the weekend

A brief update about Neil Blower’s charitable book-signing challenge. In earlier posts, we explained how Neil, a Royal Tank Regiment veteran, is hoping to raise vital funds for the Royal British Legion and for Combat Stress. He is at this year’s War and Peace Revival show in Kent, where he is signing copies of his first book, Shell Shock: The Diary of Tommy Atkins. Proceeds from books sold will go to both charities – good causes particularly close to Neil’s heart – he was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder following tours of Kosovo and Iraq.

Palamedes PR is supporting Neil’s challenge by helping him to garner the support of the media and the public. We’ve been at the show (at Folkestone Racecourse) since Tuesday where we’ve been drumming up support from visitors. Neil said the “going was tough” (no pun intended) but hoped that an influx of visitors today and over the weekend would boost sales.

It goes without saying that we wish Neil the very best of luck.

Here’s a few pictures from yesterday’s show. (Cover shot courtesy of
