Bloody Steps inspire latest Sherlock work

Author Hugh Ashton has been featured in the regional press concerning his forthcoming novel.

Hugh, a client of book PR agency Palamedes PR and one of the world’s leading writers of Sherlock Holmes pastiches, will be releasing The Bloody Steps in June.

The book is based on a shocking 19th century murder that took place in Rugeley, Staffordshire, and has become part of local legend. In the story, Sherlock Holmes is summoned to investigate after the ghost of the victim is spotted by the parish vicar’s wife.

It will feature a villain mentioned in passing in the canonical Sherlock Holmes adventures penned by Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle.

The novel has been featured in this week’s edition of The Staffordshire Newsletter, which covers Rugeley.
