David Shannon & Bernardine Evaristo Celebrate At Book Launch Event

The Palamedes team were delighted to attend the book launch for David Shannon's acclaimed debut novel, Howul

Author David Shannon and his wife, Booker Prize-winning author Bernardine Evaristo OBE, officially celebrated the launch of his acclaimed debut novel this week.

David, a client of book PR agency Palamedes, held the event to mark the release of HOWUL: A Life’s Journey, published earlier this year through Elsewhen Press, at the London Welsh Centre in central London on Monday evening.

During the event, the author did a book signing and gave a short talk about his book, a work of satirical literary fiction set in post-Apocalyptic North Wales.

He was supported by his wife, Bernardine, who in 2019 became the first black woman and the first black British author to land the coveted Booker Prize, with ‘Girl, Woman, Other’.

Author David Shannon signing copies of his debut novel, HOWUL, at Monday’s launch event in central London. Our campaign generated widespread UK publicity including the Daily Mail Online, Daily Telegraph and Radio 4.

We handled the UK promotion of HOWUL back in March, revealing how David kept his book a secret from his wife until it had already been accepted by a leading literary agent.

The story secured multiple national media placements including the Daily Mail Online, and the print editions of the Daily Telegraph and Metro.

David and Bernardine were also interviewed at the time on BBC Radio 4’s flagship current affairs programme, Today.

In addition, our campaign for David and HOWUL generated further media coverage in the likes of Reader’s Digest and The London Economic

We were delighted to be invited to the launch event, and would like to thank both David and Bernardine for their kind invitation.
