Author Steven Romain has enjoyed an expansive review for his debut novel in one of the UK’s largest regional newspapers.
The South African new work of literary fiction, True-Life Walter, has been featured in The Scotsman.
The novel is set in South Africa and focuses on the journey of protagonist Walter Sabukwana and a colleague, John Legrand, after the former decides to have brain surgery to deal with his severe anxiety and which changes his personality.
The title praised the book as a “masterful combination of thoughts and form” that examines the themes of identity, friendship and the meaning of an authentic life.
