A news story devised by Palamedes PR, the book PR specialist, for client AudioGO has been picked up by BBC Radio 2.
The story, concerning Dad’s Army star and Mr. Men narrator Arthur Lowe playing on a sleeping condition in a cheeky bid to avoid the paparazzi and fans, was mentioned on yesterday’s Vanessa Feltz Show – with the presenter asking listeners how far they have gone to avoid talking to someone.
The broadcast exposure adds to the list of national placements for the news copy, promoting new AudioGO’s Mr. Men Vintage Beeb release, which also includes coverage in the Daily Telegraph and Times, and online, leading UK comedy website Chortle.
You can currently listen to Vanessa’s radio show on the BBCi Player.
In the 1970s, Lowe became the voice of the BBC cartoon series Mr. Men, in which he was the narrator and its characters.
The series’ simple stories, with brightly coloured, boldly drawn illustrations, have made them very popular around the world, with sales of over 100 million books across 28 countries to date.
Mr. Men (Vintage Beeb) audiobook is available now on CD and digital download from AudioGO, priced £5.99. Visit www.audiogo.com/uk
