Medical doctor Robert Peprah-Gyamfi provides the cure for the ailing NHS in his new book
Author and long-term client Dr Robert Peprah-Gyamfi has appointed book PR agency Palamedes to promote a new book about the UK’s struggling national healthy system.
The agency will be working with Dr Peprah-Gyamfi to generate exposure for Let’s Make Our NHS Great!. The book provides a rare assessment of the NHS from within.
Dr Peprah-Gyamfi was prompted to write the book after his wife was made to wait seven hours in A&E before being admitted with acute appendicitis.
Despite being in agonising pain, she then had to wait a further 21 hours before receiving life-saving surgery. Dr Peprah-Gyamfi describes the incident, which happened in December last year, as a “nightmare experience”.
Dr Peprah-Gyamfi, who accompanied his wife to hospital, observed that A&E at the hospital was “filled to the last seat” with patients, some of whom also required urgent attention. A shortage of hospital beds only compounded the problem.
His new book will analyse what has led to the NHS – once the envy of the world – to become broken, as well outlining how it can be made fit for purpose once again.
