Book PR specialist Palamedes PR is pleased to be representing author Rowena Kinread with the promotion of her debut novel, The Missionary.
A work of historical fiction, it is set in 5th century Ireland and recounts in dramatic fashion the life of the nation’s patron saint, St. Patrick.
Based on three years of research and retold in vivid detail, The Missionary begins with Patrick in his teenage years when, aged 16, he was captured by Gaelic pirates and sold as a slave to the cruel underking of the Dalriada tribe in northern Ireland.
Rowena Kinread is an author of historical fiction who makes her literary debut with new novel, The Missionary, which tells the life story of Saint Patrick.
New historical fiction novel The Missionary, by Rowena Kinread, has been three years in the making. It is out now, published through Pegasus.
It then charts his escape back to to his native Britain, training in the priesthood, and eventual return to Ireland to convert the pagan tribes to Christianity.
Rowena, who is based in Germany but is originally from England, was inspired to write about the life of St. Patrick after learning that her surname is of Irish origin, and can be traced back to tribe of Dalriada that Patrick lived among while a slave.
The author, who has muscular dystrophy, is currently working on a second historical novel set in 5th century Ireland, this time focused on the king of the Dalriada, Fergus Mor.
