Indian superfood pioneer's new veg bar receives glowing on-air review on BBC Radio London
Gurpareet Bains, the award-winning celebrity chef, A-list nutritionist and bestselling cookery author, first hit the headlines in 2009 after creating a cancer-fighting superfood curry. He has gone on to create the first anti-insomnia curry; a hangover busting cocktail; the world’s healthiest fish and chips; a cold-and-flu-busting curry; the world’s healthiest Christmas dinner; and last year, the world’s healthiest snack.
Now Bains, whose fans include the Royal Family, DJ Chris Evans, and designer Vivienne Westwood, has done it again by co-creating what is believed to be the world’s first vegetable snack bar with two of our five-a-day portions of fruit and vegetables.
Bains’ debut recipe book, Indian Superfood, was published by Bloomsbury in July, 2010 and is a no.1 bestseller. In June 2012, his second recipe-book and culinary concept, Indian Superspices, was published. His third book, The Superfood Diet, is a gastronomic, multi-cuisine, healthy cookery book, published by Bloomsbury in May 2014.
His celebrity fans include Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Dame Vivienne Westwood, Chris Evans, Dermot O’Leary, Sanjeev Bhaskar OBE, Meera Syal MBE, Theo Paphitis, Simon Mayo, HRH Prince Mohsin Ali Khan of Hyderabad, as well as celebrity chefs Ching-He Huang, Vicky Bhogal, Anjali Pathak and Mark Diacono.
