Dr Niamh Middleton, the Irish academic and author, has been interviewed on radio about how the Catholic Church in Ireland has fallen from grace with millennials.
Dr Middleton, who appointed book PR agency Palamedes PR to promote her new non-fiction popular science book, Homo Lapsus, has been speaking with stations including U105 in Ireland and BBC Radio Guernsey.
She warns that the Catholic Church in Ireland is facing a “generational crisis” as increasing numbers of young people, especially women, struggle to reconcile their religious beliefs with Church teachings on sexuality. Increasingly, young adults consider the Church’s position on issues such as LGBTQ rights, gay marriage, artificial birth control and IVF to be “totally irrelevant” in modern society.
