Children’s author Tamara Alireza has penned an exclusive thought-leader article about her new book’s prominent anti-bullying message.
Alireza, a client of author PR agency Palamedes, says she was inspired to write picture book Steiny’s Rhapsody because of her own personal experiences, and those of her family.
She reveals that she was bullied at school because of her height – reaching 6′ by the age of 12 and now standing at 6′ 2″.
Likewise, her young nephew was also targeted at school for being different. In his case, the bullying became so bad that he ultimately had to transfer to a new school, where he is now thriving.
Alireza says she decided to write Steiny’s Rhapsody, which features a grand piano that is bullied by other instruments in a music shop, to show her nephew that things would “turn out OK”.
