Palamedes PR, the news-generation specialists, has today secured extensive media exposure for the pet-sitting service.

The agency’s survey-led story about Britons being forced to sacrifice a summer holiday because of their pets has appeared on the Mail Online, This is Money, and a variety of other news platforms.

The sites attract millions of readers each week, and the story has attracted more than 130 comments at the time of writing.

Our survey found that the rising cost of kennels and professional sitters will prevent a quarter of families with pets from taking a vacation this year.

Many say they are unable to rely on the goodwill of friends and family to help out, or are too embarrassed to ask.

Others feel guilty about ‘abandoning’ their pets, even on short breaks, and worry about their welfare in cheaper boarding.

Two per cent of respondents said financial constraints or ’emotional ties’ had stopped them from taking a holiday without their pets for five years.

A spokesman for Palamedes PR said: “We are delighted with the media coverage and, as ever, we would like to thank everyone who has helped us to secure it.”
