Historian Linda Parker has appointed author PR agency Palamedes PR to promote her latest book, Seeker After Truths.
The agency will be working with Parker, an expert on army chaplaincy in both world wars, on the promotion of her new biography of Geoffrey Studdert Kennedy, popularly known as ‘Woodbine Willie’.
Kennedy, who died in 1929 at the age of 45, is arguably Britain’s most famous army chaplain and is remembered today for his heroism, compassion and concern for the plight of the poor. He earned his nickname through his habit of handing out cigarettes and Bibles to soldiers on the front lines, and during the First World War received the Military Cross for “conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty”.
Parker has called upon a wide range of previously unseen material to examine Kennedy’s life in all aspects, examining his significance as an army chaplain, priest, theologian, bestselling author and public figure, and assessing his impact on church life, industry and society.
Anthony Harvison, Campaigns Director at Palamedes PR, said: “We are delighted to be working with Linda on the promotion of Seeker After Truths.
“She has left no stone unturned in writing her critical account of Woodbine Willie and his legacy, nearly 90 years after his death.”
