The lost recording of Connery’s first-ever TV role: listen here

The BBC Radio 4 interview with the author and director Alvin Rakoff, can be found below. The recording features the voice of Sean Connery in his first lead role in Requiem for a Heavyweight.

Until last month, the “priceless” audio tape had remained buried under blankets for more than 50 years in Mr Rakoff’s attic.

Mr Rakoff rediscovered the recording by chance in May.

Listen carefully and you can hear Connery’s trademark accent – despite the Scottish actor attempting to talk with an American one.

Copies of Mr Rakoff’s new book, The Seven Einsteins, are  still available on a complimentary basis for review. For your copy, contact the book PR agency, Palamedes PR, on 0203 1027935.
