We were devastated to hear about the tragic loss of Alex Flynn, a long-standing client and friend.
We were absolutely devastated to learn that Alex Flynn, the endurance athlete and charity fundraiser, has died whilst mountaineering in Nepal.
Alex had Parkinsons and had hoped to become the first person with the disease to climb Mount Everest next year. We understood that he died at Mera Peak, a +6,000m mountain in the Himalaya.
Alex was a force of nature who let nothing, least of all Parkinson’s, stand in his way. His punishing feats of endurance, which raised awareness of the disease and money for the charity Parkinson’s UK, are well chronicled and can be found on his website, AlexFlynn.co.uk. At least two documentaries were also in the pipeline.
You can donate money to Alex’s local Parkinson’s charity, here.
After more than a decade of publicising his adventures, and dreaming up new ones with him, we will do as his family suggest and raise a toast to an inspirational man and to his enduring legacy.
Rest in peace, mate. We’ll have that beer on the other side.
