The American journalist and author, Bill Deane, appointed Palamedes PR for an international book PR campaign following the publication of his expose, Smooth Criminal: A One Man American Crime Wave. Deane was a journalist and news director in Denver, Rochester and New York for 33 years at ABC and CBS; he was anchor at KYW, Philadelphia as well as Miami’s ABC TV affiliate. Deane is also a member of the Radio Television News Directors Association; New York Press Club; Investigative Reporters & Editors; Society of Professional Journalists and the winner of many awards including an Edward R. Murrow for Best Coverage of a Major Breaking News Event, the Assassination of Itzhak Rabin.
Palamedes PR created compelling news content that we knew would capture the attention of the world’s media. Having liaised with the UK newsdesks, our team also entered a dialogue with international radio stations in order to maximise publicity on broadcast channels.
We secured UK national media coverage within 48 hours of appointment, and international coverage thereafter. The campaign was particularly effective on US radio – a key target given the controversial subject matter. Coverage included, but was not limited to, the following:
“A staggering amount of media exposure which spanned Europe and the States – and everywhere in between. A wonderful PR agency to work with.”
As a market-leading non-fiction book PR firm, our book PR campaigns generate – in the words of our clients – “staggering amounts” of publicity. We plan for it to stay that way.
