Palamedes PR was appointed by author Marco Previero to launch ‘Dear Millie’, a poignant diary of his seven-year-old daughter’s battle with cancer. Dear Millie is her story – the intimate tale of her illness in three parts (Hell, Purgatory and Heaven). It is recounted by her father as his gift to Millie, so that she can read it at an age when she will be old enough to understand the enormity of the immeasurable suffering she had to endure, and the extraordinary courage with which she did it.

All proceeds from the sale of Dear Millie were being donated to the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, where Millie was treated. It was incredibly important to us that the book attracted the high levels of publicity that would encourage sales – and therefore increase the charitable donations.

Millie’s story is a powerful and inspirational one, and we wanted to tell it in as much detail as possible, and on as many different platforms as we could.

The media coverage included three BBC interviews on TV and radio, and extensive placements in print and online, in addition to book reviews. The publicity included:

“Palamedes PR secured widespread publicity for my book, Dear Millie, which includes two BBC Radio interviews. I have enjoyed working with the Palamedes PR team, and would recommend them to other authors for book PR campaigns.”

Marco Previero

This book PR campaign was driven by a sincere desire to support the Previero family and to help them to raise awareness of – and fight – childhood cancer. We are proud to have been involved.
