Palamedes PR was re-appointed by award-winning Singaporean playwright and author Ovidia Yu in February 2019 to promote her new historical whodunnit novel The Paper Bark Tree Mystery. We were tasked with securing a syndicated Nationwide Book Review with Accompanying Q&A interview; Broadcast Radio Interviews; Exclusive Thought-Leader Articles with Accompanying Q&A Interviews; and an Exclusive Magazine Book Review.

The Consultancy delivered the following services to support the Client’s aims:

  • We prepared a book review for The Paper Bark Tree Mystery with accompanying Q&A questions, and proofed the Client’s interview answers
  • We worked with the Client to develop angles for her thought-leader articles, aligned to the wider themes of her new novel, and proofed and edited her draft articles. We also prepared accompanying Q&A questions and proofed her answers
  • We utilized our contacts to secure a book review in the print edition of a national women’s magazine
  • We worked with the Client to develop a newsworthy radio pitch and distributed that pitch to all UK BBC and commercial radio newsdesks

The campaign for The Paper Bark Tree Mystery secured the following exposure:

  • Placement of the syndicated book review and Q&A interview on 150 Johnston Press regional news websites including flagship titles The Scotsman and the Yorkshire Post
  • A book review in Bella magazine
  • Placement of the approved thought-leader articles on Female First, Stories.SWNS and The London Economic
  • Radio interviews with BBC Radio Scotland and Radio Essex

Our editorial products secured a combined reach of approximately 41 million. (This figure is based on the unique monthly visitor figures of websites, weekly print circulation figures and average weekly listener figures)

“I chose to appoint Palamedes PR for a second campaign because previous experience (and results) showed me they strive to do everything they can for their clients.” Ovidia Yu, award-winning Singaporean playwright and author of historical whodunnit The Paper Bark Tree Mystery, published by Constable and Robinson
