The first major event of the publishing year commences
The annual London Book Fair, the first major international publishing event of the year, launches today.
Taking place at Olympia London, the LBF sees the entire publishing industry – from authors and publishers to commissioners and licensers – descending upon the capital to develop commercial relationships and strike up deals.
Described as “a mecca for European publishers, booksellers, rights agents and media trend-spotters”, the LBF is attended by more than 25,000 industry insiders from over 100 countries.
For this year’s event, which runs until Thursday, there will be more than 150 panels and discussions including hot topics such as the rise of AI, the increasing popularity of digital audio, the growing influence of BookTok and social media, and global threats to the freedom to read and publish.
